Synopsis: Exec produced by Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood (Last King of Scotland, Constant Gardner) This a film with a transgender character at the heart of it telling a universal story. When Kate goes back to see her mother after a few years away(we learn that there has always been discord between her and her step father), she realises that far from being ready for a day out, her mum is gravely ill. And no one thought to tell her. MUM is about the love between a mother and daughter and about taking the time to appreciate the small moments in life with the people we love because there will inevitably come a time when we cannot.
