FILMMAKER Q&A – Manish Ghosh

GS: What was the inspiration for your film?

MG: Extremist activities are gradually increasing round the world. There are incidents of  violence and terrible bloodshed  almost at every corner of the world.  We do not want any bloodshed.

We do not want any destruction, else support creation and life.

This subject is besic inspiration to make the film.

GS: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

MG: Around July 2017 we were planning to shoot a short film about  a sensitive issue round the world.Beyond two months we had  this plot ready.

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of working in a short film format?

MG: This is my first short film. We were going to shoot in film format by CANON 5D mark iv. It is very difficult to manage because of the  restricted camera motion. Majority of shots taken were block shots. On the other side, our cast were facing the camera for the first time, so it was a difficult task to get them accustomed to the dramatic compostion.

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

MG: It is a low-budget film of around 3050$ US currency. Hence, it was challenging to produce a great quality film with proper sound and light equipments.

GS: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

MG: The best advice I can provide them with is to think out of the box. There are several film-makers who have made a mark in history just by bringing forward the important and the most sensitive issues to be discussed. Use your knowledge to your greatest advantage.
