FILMMAKER Q&A – Xander Turian, Director

GS: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

XT: The film was written by my Co Star, Sarah Giercksky, who is an amazing horror writer who also wrote the Swedish Feature film “Sargad”.

When I read the script I immediately began seeing images in my head and began putting together my team.

After just 2 weeks of reading the script we had our team and equipment ready to go!

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

XT: For us the most challenging part was having no budget, a small crew and very little time. After shooting all of the Bathroom scenes on one location from 6am we then drove 4 hours to the house in the countryside to film the rest of the film. We were told we had 4 days on this set and upon our arrival at about 6pm we were told we had to be gone before midday the following day. So we ended up shooting the entire film in less then 24 hours!

The person who was going to edit the film then disappeared and I had to teach myself how to edit on my own!

GS: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

XT: Just do it, take a leap of faith and have fun.
