Synopsis: This video highlights a four-year long soil resilience trial made possible by a Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)’s Conservation and Innovation Grant. Eleven farms, six of which are currently incubating at Viva Farms, participated in the project, trialing practices like lowering tillage, use of the no-till drill, intercropping, and various cover crops and practices.

At Viva Farms, they take the responsibility of growing the next generation of farmers seriously. They understand that growers of the future will need a full toolbox of support, research and skills to thrive in our ever-changing social and physical environment. Luckily, they are not alone in this work and commitment.

A big part of this project has been deepening relationships, alignment and connections with other service providers to best support farmers. Each organization and each provider has a different expertise and offering when it comes to implementing Soil Health Management Systems, and they all work towards connecting farmers to the resources they need to be successful.
