Synopsis: One year into recovery from his lifelong gambling addiction and desperate to save his family’s real estate inheritance, a washed up comedian recruits his estranged son, a promising young boxer, to stage a rigged fight and scam his former gambling associates out of money.
Stay Down is an explosive, short drama in which the bond between a father and son is tested by addiction, betrayal, and a fierce, complicated loyalty. Set against the pressure-cooker worlds of boxing and stand-up comedy, the film explores how love can curdle into control, and how one fracture in a family can ripple outward with devastating consequences.
