FILMMAKER Q&A – Nimra Savanghan – Director, Writer

GS: What was the inspiration for your film?

NS: 2020’s pandemic was a downward spiral for the most of us. As a woman who has battled depression for years, this was a dark , unhealthy low point for me. For reasons I cannot fully understand. I diverted this all into an experimental short movie. My inspiration? was inspiration itself. To keep moving forward. To live. To grow. To inspire.

GS: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

NS: It was something I thought of during 2020’s pandemic lockdown. I put together a few experiences and videos I shot during the year and finally edited it, early 2021.

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of working in a short film format?

NS: The editing and re shooting some of the scenes. I am a horrible actress. haha

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

NS: Finding a location- it was during the lockdown ( funny, that it still feels like a lockdown)

GS: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

NS: I am a new filmmaker. I may not have the best advice- but I think patience is key. The best way to be the best? Keep trying. Write. Film. Watch. Review. #Keepgrowing
