FILMMAKER Q&A – Paulo Ferreira – Director

GS: What was the inspiration for your film?

PF: What inspired me to make this film was the fact that I believe that it is possible to make people aware of environmental problems. Each of us can do a little to change the direction of climate change.

GS: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

PF: The idea came up in 2018 and in 2019 I was able to realize it. The making of the film took about 6 months to complete, as it is necessary to process huge timelapse plans.

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of working in a short film format?

PF: The biggest challenge in this type of film is to concentrate the idea and get the message across in such a short time, given the length of the film.

GS: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

PF: The most challenging part was the adventure I lived in Iceland. I was in almost inaccessible places and where there were almost no people.

GS: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

PF: My advice to anyone who is starting out in this type of film is to be persistent and always believe that it is possible, looking for forces where they apparently do not exist.
